Household Staff Placement Process
Our process for placing household staff is tried and true after 14 years in the industry. We take great care in a thorough, but efficient, method for matching household professionals with the needs of our client families.
- Consultation: The process begins with a call to discuss your specific needs. Please contact us to go over your household staffing wishes.
- Completing Application: The Client Application provides us with the details of your your unique requirements, so that we may identify household staff that are best suited for your needs.
- Agency/Client Discussion: After receiving your online application, we will call to confirm receipt of your information, clarify your job description, and answer any additional questions you or we may have. Following our call, a membership fee is due in order to begin the search, along with a signed copy of the Client Agreement provided by your Placement Manager.
- Reviewing Possible Candidates: We will begin sending you select group of wonderful, pre-screened candidates that match your search criteria, saving you as much time as possible in your search.
- Interviews: As you interview the candidates you have selected, please give us your feedback on each candidate, so that if necessary, we may tailor our search to further meet your needs.
- Final Selection Procedures: After the interviews, some positions will allow for you to bring one or two of the candidates back for "trial days," to observe them in action, and for both candidates and clients to determine if they are a match for each other.
Making a Job Offer: After you have found your perfect match and are making an offer, remember to always speak in terms of "gross pay" not "take home" or "net pay" when negotiating salary. You will fill in an Employment Agreement provided by MBF Agency, allowing you to be very specific about the duties, compensation, and terms of employment. After completed and signed by both parties, you will submit a copy to MBF Agency. You should also contact the Payroll Processing Manager at Breedlove and Associates at 1-888-BREEDLOVE to begin to set up your candidate's payroll if you prefer outsourcing this function. - Placement Fee: The placement fee is due prior to your employee's start date, or within seven days of your decision to hire the candidate (whichever comes first).
- Ongoing Agency Support: MBF Agency is available to meet any of your needs both before and after you hire a household employee through our service. We have over 17 years of industry experience, and can be contacted for a number of situations, issues, as well as industry standards and expectations.
- Feedback: We rely upon your feedback in order to continually provide you with exceptional service. Please complete the agency and candidate evaluations after your placement, as well as the online feedback form.
