MBF Doulas are women trained and experienced
in childbirth. They provide you informational
support prior to the birth of your child,
as well as physical and emotional support
during the labor, birth and immediate postpartum
period. The Birth Facilitator Labor Doula
offers help and advice on comfort measures
such as breathing, relaxation, movement and
positioning. They also help you gather information
about the course of your labor and your options.
Doulas specialize in non-medical skills and
do not perform clinical tasks or give medical
advice. The Doula’s goal is to help
you have a safe and satisfying childbirth
as you define it. Doula training and/or certification
is required, as well as previous experience.
The Birth Facilitator/Labor Doula service
is a flat rate of $750 (including agency
fees) and includes an initial meeting to
create a birth plan, attendance at one of
your doctor’s visits, and then on call
for and present during your labor (up to
12 hours is included; additional fees apply
with extended labor). Breastfeeding support
is available if needed, and one post-partum
visit is also included. |

Because MBF has been working with families
for over 10 years, we have become a vital
source for many new parents. At the request
of our clients, we have created a consulting
service to address many of the questions
and concerns that new parents face. This
hourly service can be allocated to your most
pressing needs such as nursery planning,
general infant consultation (breastfeeding,
product suggestions, baby-proofing, etc.),
suggestions for baby/childcare resources
(books, videos, etc.). We can even help you
with the overwhelming chore of completing
a Baby Registry. The New Parent Consultations
are $75 per hour including agency fees. |

Night nannies/nurses are the saving grace
for working moms or mothers who have more
than one child. Many of our families attribute
their sanity to this great service. Newborn
specialists work 10 hour shifts, helping new
parents to achieve a restful night’s
sleep by getting up with the baby, feeding
or bringing the baby to the nursing mom, changing
the baby, rocking the baby, doing the baby’s
laundry and more. The cost for this service
is $175 per night for singles, $200 per night
for twins and special needs and $220 for triplets,
including agency fees. |
