Behavioral Innovations and Mom’s Best Friend have partnered together to fill a needed gap in services in the DFW area. Parents deserve a break! Having a child or family member with Autism or other developmental delays can be stressful when juggling medical appointments, therapy services, full-time jobs and other responsibilities all at the same time. Parents often make sacrifices to their own health to the meet the needs of their children. Research has demonstrated that respite services can make a significant positive difference in the lives of
families, allowing them to take a break and increase their social and emotional well-being. It is also shown to have a positive impact on family relations (Cowen & Reed, 2002).
Focusing on your health can be challenging at times when it’s hard to find trustworthy respite care providers for your children. Mom’s Best Friend (MBF) began in Austin in 1994 and the Dallas/Ft. Worth location was established in 1998. MBF is a brick and mortar caregiver service, providing both hiring assistance and employment placement for families and employees located in the DFW area. Through a partnership with Behavioral Innovations, Mom’s Best Friend caregivers are being trained through a 5 part series in 2015 on ABA Therapy principles along with practical application. In speaking with MBF representative Ashton Goll, we asked why they want to pioneer providing quality respite care services for the autism community. She stated, “We have seen a growing need for quality, accessible respite care for families with autistic children or children with other developmental delays. We’re so excited to partner with Behavioral Innovations to offer the Behavior Management training to our caregivers so they will be further equipped and able to service a more diverse clientele.”
Behavioral Innovations is dedicated to helping our clients and the community find quality services for their children. We are always dedicated to working alongside great partners just like Mom’s Best Friend and would love to partner with you! Call us today at 855.782.7822 to inquire.
